Ajay Singh asks why CM was absent during discussion in House
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh has said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan must tell whether Preeti Raghuvanshi is his niece or not. He asked why CM Chouhan did not enter the House while discussion was going on in the assembly regarding Preeti’s suicide. The people of the state want answer to this question.
Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh also wrote a firm letter to the chief minister regarding police and government inaction in the Preeti Raghuwanshi suicide case.
Singh wrote Preeti committed suicide under pressure from minister Rampal Singh and his family members and the Congress wanted to hold discussion over this issue through adjournment motion on March 20-21 but the CM did not consider it fit to remain present in the House.
The Congress has said that Girijesh was under pressure from his parents to abandon Preeti and remarry. Preeti Raghuwanshi’s family said that Girijesh who married Preeti on June 20 last year got engaged to another girl on March 14. This led to Preeti to take the extreme step.
This is a clear case of abetment of suicide under section 306 IPC. Rampal Singh and his wife should also be booked under section 120B for criminal conspiracy, the party has demanded.
Leader of Opposition asked why the police were still not registering an FIR in the case. He said in BJP rule, there are two sets of laws – one for the BJP’s ministers and leaders and another for the common man.
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has become a haven for tainted persons. Why are the police not registering an FIR even after the deceased girl’s parents are repeatedly taking the name of the minister and his son, asked Singh.
