CM Yogi meets family of police inspector Subodh Singh, assures every possible help


Agencies, Lucknow Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday met the family of slain police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who died following clashes between the police and ‘gaurakshaks’ on December 3 in Bulandshahr. The meeting with the grieving family took place at his official residence. The CM, while accepting their demands, assured strict action against the guilty people. He also said that he was very serious on this particular issue. The CM, while assuring them of all possible aid, said that stringent action will be taken against all the accused in the violence. DGP OP Singh and Minister in charge Atul Garg were also present in the meeting. After the meeting with the family, DGP Mr Singh held a press conference at the official residence of the CM, in which he stated that the SIT was probing the issue. The DGP said that the government would give Subodh Singh the honour of a martyr and support his kids in every possible way. The state government has reportedly accepted most of the demands of the family of the slain police inspector. The state government will provide one member of the family with a government job, while bearing the expenses of the education of the children. Wife of the slain police inspector, Ms Rajni, his two sons and several other people were present in the meeting with the CM. The DGP further said that the government will also pay the loan of Subodh’s family. He also said that on the day of his last rites, a village school, a road and a memorial will also be constructed in the name of martyred Subodh Singh. Four people have been arrested so far in connection with Bulandhshar violence, which claimed the life of police inspector Subodh Singh. The state government announced an ex gratia amount of Rs 40 lakh to be given to the family of slain police inspector. A youth named Sumit also died during the unfortunate incident, while the state government announced an assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh for the family of the deceased youth.
