Communal Clashes

Three states Bihar, West Bengal and Rajasthan are hit by communal clashes in recent days from the occasion of Ram Navmi. There are no election to Vidhan Sabha in these states but in the early 2019 the Lok Sabha elections will held all over the country. Such mishaps will definitely affect the conducive atmosphere of Lok Sabha polls. In West Bengal the three phased Panchayat elections are being held and nominations have started. Besides these communal clashes some astray incidents at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh and Bhavnagar in Gujarat may spark wide-spread violence in these states. At Allahabad the statue of Dr.Ambedkar was vandalized. The incident sparked outrage among people. The Administration in a quick action replaced the statue. In Bhavnagar Gujarat a Dalit youth was murdered for owning and riding a horse. Some upper caste Rajput held a grudge against the Dalit youth Pradip for keeping a horse and warned him to sell off the horse. On March 17 at Navada in Bihar riot were erupted in the incidents of breaking idol. Large numbers of houses and shops were set on fire, Ranchi-Patna highway jammed and many vehicles damaged. Thousands of persons taking shelter in relief camps. Hundreds were arrested and booked. The riot engulfed to the eight more districts Aurangabad, Samastipur, Bhagalpur, Araria, Munger, Nalanda, Sivan and Navada rapidly. At Aurangabad stones were pelted on Ram Navmi procession and at Samastipur a riot erupted during Durga puja. In West Bengal at Raniganj and Asansol the communal riots erupted during Ram Navmi. The situation in Asansol as very grim. Hundreds of homes and shops were set on fire. Thousands of persons women and children are in shelter homes. In West Bengal some unusual things have also happed. The State Administration advised the Governor Mr.Kashinath Tripathi not to visit riots affected areas in view of imposition of Section 144 there and question of his safety also. The Lok Sabha member from West Bengal and Union Minister Mr.Babul Supriyo was prevented from visit those areas but when he instead on FIR was registered against him. But now the Governor Mr.Tripathi has visited the affected areas and takes a BJP delegation also visited Asansol. In Rajasthan in Jaitaran of Pali district arson, clashes flared up after stone pelting at the religious procession of Hanuman Jayanti. In Surat city two gangs of criminals clashed violently. A criminal named Babu Zalim who is on parole turned the criminal clash into a communal clashes to save himself.
