Congress Target-300

The Congress Working Committee has set a target of winning 300 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It expected to win 150 seats of its own and another 150 seats of its allies of poll alliance. The Congress President Mr.Rahul Gandhi will be its face for the post of Prime Minister. The claim of the Congress is perfectly right as it will be the only national level party of the upcoming poll alliance of various other parties. Once such situation emerged in Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha election when the number of seats of Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) were higher by few seats then the Congress and on that basis the NCP claimed the post of the Chief Minister in the coalition Government. But the logic of Congress was accepted by Mr.Sharad Pawar that besides inside the legislature position as a whole Congress is all India party. In the Lok Sabha election the leading will be only two party the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress. Obviously the small and regional parties require some national party as political umbrella to come together to fight the poll. Even now the ruling NDA is led by the Bhartiya Janata Party and the UPA is led by the Congress. The BJP is having its own majority but maintaining NDA combination of the party otherwise they would have aligned with other combinations. In such situation leader of the national party is candidate in the post of Prime Minister. The Congress has shown its capacity to bounce back to power in the past. In 1977 in the Janata wave of Jai Prakash Narain the Congress was routed in the polls and even Mrs.Indira Gandhi and Mr.Sanjay Gandhi were defeated. But within three years in 1980 the Congress bounced back into power and Janata Party was disintegrated. The Congress led UPA alliance ousted the BJP Government of Prime Minister Mr.Atal Bihari Vajpayee after its one term of five years and thereafter the Congress led UPA recaptured the power and continued for 2 term of 10 years. The election campaign BJP led by Mr.Narendra Modi made a tall claim of black money in foreign bank but on winning and forming the Government they themselves backed out from it calling it “Just a sentence”. During the UPA Rule the BJP on Opposition started a new way of opposing by way of blocking the functioning of the Parliament and it appears as of it has become a permanent feature in Parliament and Vidhan Sabhas to be blocked the functioning the legislatures. The BJP in Opposition alleged massive corruption in spectrum and coal blocks. But by now the court decision have come that there were no corruption in it at all. In the 2014 election these thing will come to fore in election and erode credibility of the Bhartiya Janata Party.
