Conservative Awareness Program on Mathematics Popularization concluded


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal A three day conservative awareness program on Mathematics Popularization sponsored by Madhya Pradesh council of science and technology concluded at the Bhopal school of Social Sciences. The theme of the program was to develop a constructivist teaching and learning module for Mathematical Sciences for middle school students in Madhya Pradesh. The resource group comprised of middle school teachers from Bhopal and Indore. Dr. Fr. John PJ, Principal BSSS college welcomed the guests and applauded the mission of MPCST in promoting and popularizing science and technology for development of state. The program was graced by the presence of Dr. R.K Arya, chief scientist with MPCST, Dr. S.K Garg, senior scientist at MPCST and Dr. K.B Subramaniyam, retired principal from Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal as honorable key resource person. Dr Arya emphasized on the opportunities available in the area of research and encouraged participants to avail the opportunity and do innovative researches both in the field of Sciences and Social Sciences. He stated that lot of funds is available in the area of research and we need to develop the latent talent and promote and spearhead research. Ms. Sheena Thomas HOD department of Education, the convener of the program shared that the whole objective of the program is to improve student’s achievement in Mathematics through constructivist approach. Dr. K.B Subramaniyam methodology spoke about constructivism and how students should be left free to construct their own knowledge.
