CWC for launching mass movement against Modi govt on bank frauds, joblessness, corruptions deals

New Delhi, The Congress Working Committee on Saturday called upon Congress leaders and MPs to launch a mass movement against the Narendra Modi government on the various banking frauds, the collapse of the economy, the lack of jobs, the corruption in the Modi government, the issue of farmers’ distress and the faulty implementation of the process for preparing the National Register for Citizens in Assam. The meeting of the newly constituted CWC, held under the chairmanship of Mr Rahul Gandhi and attended by former Prime Manmohan Singh, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC General Secretary Ashok Gehlot and other members of the CWC, also discussed the preparedness of the party for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Meghalaya. In a post on social media, Mr Gandhi said that the CWC discussed the various issues facing the country like the various banking frauds, the collapse of the economy, the lack of jobs, the corruption in the Modi government and the issue of farmers’ distress and felt that there was a huge opportunity for the Congress to highlight these issues and failure of the government on several fronts. "The CWC met today. As a team, we discussed the political situation in the country & the huge opportunity for the Congress to highlight issues of corruption and failure of the government to provide jobs to our youth,’’ he tweeted. Briefing reporters about the deliberations of the CWC, AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot and AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala said, "Issues of NRC Draft Bill, corruption, bank fraud cases, Rafale deal and the collapse of the economy under the NDA rule were discussed in CWC. "Discussions were also held on the issue of unemployment. The CWC also held discussions on preparations for upcoming elections in four states.’’ "The CWC called upon the Congress MPs and leaders to launch a mass movement against the gove nrmet on all these issues. It was decided that the COngres will demands answers from Prime Minister Narendra modi on rthese issues,’’he said.
