Dalit bodies take out rally, hold protest against verdict on SC/ST Act

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Dalit and leftist parties organized a demo against the apex court order diluting the SC ST Act at the Board Office Square on Monday. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Lenin) participated in the demo and supported Bharat Bandh. Large number of youths participated in the demo. Earlier a motor cycle rally was taken out which passed through various localities of the city and culminated at Board office Square. Addressing the rally CPI (M-L) state secretary Comrade Vijay Kumar said the Supreme Court order fulfills the interests of the Sangh family. He said those challenging the system that keeps their caste at the lowest are hit by violence. The RSS and BJP want to keep Dalits at the lowest notch in the Indian society. Those who challenge this thinking are hit by violence,” Vijay Kumar said. Thousands of Dalits are on the streets today demanding to protect their rights from the Modi government, he added. Large number of members and functionaries of Akhil Bhartiya Anusuchit Jati Janjati Pichhra Warg Avam Alpsanhyak Adhikari Karmchari Sangh (APAX) Dalit Samaj Kalyan Sanstha, Samagra Anusuchit Jati-Janjati Sangh and other Dalit organizations also participated in the demonstration.

Widespread violence part of conspiracy: AAP

AAP state convener and spokesman Alok Agrawal said the widespread violence in the state and other parts of the country is part of BJP’s conspiracy. Condoling the death of those killed in the violence, Agarwal said the AAP is with those killed in the violence. Expressing concern over violence that gripped parts of India amid Dalit groups’ protest against a Supreme Court order on the SC/ST act, Agrawal on Monday appealed for peace while extending her support of their cause.
