Delhi Assembly congratulates P V Sindhu for winning Gold at BWF C'ship


New Delhi,  The Delhi Assembly on Monday congratulated Olympic silver medalist P V Sindhu for winning Gold at the BWF World Championships. Reading out a congratulatory message in the House, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said, 'Congratulations to PV Sindhu. Entire country is feeling proud.' Sindhu became the first Indian as she clinched gold by defeating Japanese player Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in straight sets in women's singles at the Badminton World Championship on Sunday. Japan's Nozomi Okuhara, the World No 4 but seeded third at the World Championships, had thwarted Sindhu in the 2017 final.  The badminton ace has taken a career record of 9-7 against World No 4 Okuhara.
