Deliberations held on various points of river conservation in 4 parallel sessions


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal On the first day of the Pancham Nadi Mahotsav being orgainsed at Bandrabhan of Hoshangabad district, 4 parallel sessions were held on various points of river conservation today at Anil Madhav Dave complex. Discussions on culture and society on the banks of river; correlation between river,agriculture and livelihood; existence of river and bio-diversity besides conservation of tributary rivers-policies, rules and scope were held during the sessions. Conservation of Tributary Rivers- Dr. Anirban Ganguli, the Director of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee presided over the Policies, Rules and Scope session. Experts were of the opinion that there is a need to form a comprehensive policy on the conservation of tributary rivers, then only work can be conducted successfully in this direction. Deliberations on the subject based on existence of river and bio-diversity were made by R. Shrinivas Murthy, SP Guatam and other experts. Flow of river can be increased and nature is our family, if we can make children understand this since the childhood then our future generation will be committed for its conservation. In the parallel session of correlation between river, agriculture and livelihood, all the experts in one voice said that our policy is to save environment and water. We have to adopt the technique, which was adopted by our ancestors in ancient times to save rivers and trees. We have to see that our ancestors had undertaken agriculture by adopting ancient method. We have to return to traditional method of farming. We will have to quit use of chemical fertilizer and have to return to organic farming. Ashok Mathur, Mansingh, Ajay Jha and Former Union Minister Sanjay Paswan expressed their views on environment in the parallel session.
