Dr. Hashvardhan lauds environment conservation efforts in MP


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal ,Union Environment Minister Dr. Harshvardhan reviewed the Madhya Pradesh pavilion at the exhibition organized at Vigyan Bhavan premises in New Delhi today. He lauded the excellent performance of Narmada Seva Yatra, cleanliness awards to Indore and Bhopal for consecutive two years and plastic ban in Madhya Pradesh at the exhibition. It may be noted that the United Nations has entrusted the responsibility of World Environment event to India this year. This year’s theme is ‘Beat Plastic’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the main programme to be held on June 5 on World Environment Day. The unique initiative of the state government for disposal of plastic waste in brick kilns, the remarkable Namami Devi Narmade Seva Yatra, a scheme implemented under Swachh Bharat Mission taken out for conservation and public awareness of Narmada river in the state. The cleanliness awards bagged by Indore and Bhopal consecutively for two years and complete ban on polythene carry bags etc. have been displayed in the exhibition.
