Easter Mahotsav 2018 held


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Easter Mahotsav organized in the city of lakes on Sunday 1 April, 2018 from 7 pm at Bittan Market Dussehra ground. Nearly, 3000 people belong to Christians and many other religions came together to celebrate Easter Mahotsav. Fr. Jose Prakash welcomed all the dignitaries with a description of Easter. On this occasion Archbishop Most Rev. Leo Cornelio, said – Easter is all about knowing, believing, loving and serving the Lord to become serving people, loving people, joyful people and living people. All those who encountered the Resurrected Lord will become to witness all that he taught, did and proclaimed. Easter is not a one day celebration but an eternal commemoration of Christ love. Rev Pastor Vijay Nathaniel said in his message that in the present context there are violence against the believers of Christ. He asked all the believers to encounter the reason Lord in day to day life as the death of Christ is not an end but a beginning towards new life. The Programme began with a short prayer by Pr. Amos Shah, followed by lighting of the Lamp. There was a welcome dance by Primary students of Campion School. The Mahotsav was high lightened with 15 minutes dance and drama on the theme “You are Peter”. The students from BSSS College and brothers from Khrist Premalaya , Bhopal. it was produced by Mahotsav Samiti, story and concept by Fr. Maria Stephen, and script and direction by Mr. Dilip Bose. The story of martyrdom of one of the disciples Peter, who led the group of believers facing persecution and rejection from Roman king Nero and finally got martyred like Jesus was depicted in the drama. Master Angelo Jerry from Assumption Church sang a song with title you “Raised Me Up” beautifully and received thunder applause from the crowd. There theme songs presented on Easter from Bethlehem Church, Bussy Rose ( YMCA), Zion Church, Kolar and Anugraha Church, Kolar with their group. Rev Pastor Biju Varghese and Senior Pastor C.P. Singh said the final prayer with Bible verses to prepare to receive the Easter Message followed by theme songs from Zion and Bethlehem Churches. MP Alok Sanjar, MLA Surendra Nath Singh in their address praised the Christians all over for their dedicated service in education, hospital, social and orphanage. No one can match with the committed service of the Christians it’s because of Risen Christ, is itself a proclamation. Pr. Keshab Pradhan thanked all the guests, volunteers and the laity for making this mega event very memorable one. . A video clip of speech on Christ by actor Johney Lever was shown as a part of the Mahotsav. To warm up the Mahotsav, the Rhythm group of BSSS College presented different theme songs with poem was very inspiring. Fr. Maria Stephen the PRO appreciating the sincere collaboration of the Pastors, Fathers, Sisters and Christians for the mega event said in his reply to a question that the principle of Resurrection teaches us that God will always finish What He started. No matter how dark it looks, how long it’s been, how many people pushed you down, if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday and complete what he started in you. The different religious leaders, educationists and well renowned personalities were present for the Mahotsav. In this Mahotsav Ward Parshad Mohd Saud, Bhopal Commissioner Ajat Shatru Shrivastav, Central Bank’s Dep. General Manager Mohan C. Samuel, Milansar Society’s Rafeeq and Naeem Bhai were present. It was a colorful and fun filled evening for all the families, well wishers and friends. The entire event got over at 10.30 pm with benediction by Pr. C.P. Singh.

St Montfort School celebrated Easter

The festival of new life, new beginning and resurrection “Easter” was celebrated on 2nd April 2018 in the school premises by the students and staff with great fervor and enthusiasm. The students presented a small skit in the morning assembly detailing the events of Christ’s life that happened on the day. Students were filled with joy and a sense of bliss. Principal Rev Bro. Alex asked the students to leave the past behind and to enter a new life of sacrifice and brotherhood and to strive hard towards perfection in the new session. They should also follow the spiritual path showed by Christ and complete all tasks with full devotion.
