Employment oriented education is the biggest need of hour: CM


Chief Minister inaugurates Symboisis University of Applied Sciences at Indore

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that employment oriented education is the biggest need of the hour. Constant and effective efforts are being made by the state government for expansion of employment oriented education. State government has taken a resolution that maximum skilled manpower should be made available in the state, so that a new direction could be given to industrial development. Chouhan was inaugurating the Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences at Indore today.

Special Focus on Education Expansion

CM Chouhan mentioned that speedy works have been carried out on priority in the state in the field of electricity, road, water, agriculture development and for expansion of education. A special attention has been paid on basic infrastructure in these areas. New one lakh 50 thousand k.m. long roads have been constructed in the state. Arrangements have been made to provide 24x7 electricity to the citizens. In addition to this, a special attention has been paid on expansion of education, as a result many big educational institutions have come to the state including main institutions like Symbiosis, Infosys, Nursee Monjee, TCS and others. Moreover, Chouhan stated that as expected better investment has been made in the education sector. Now students of our state are not going outside for higher and technical education. It is our effort that we prepare such skilled students in the state, who could get employment immediately after the education. Industrial units are being contacted constantly for this and arrangements for education are being made by assessing their requirement. ITIs are also being upgraded. Moreover, a Global Skill Park is being established in the state. Chancellor of Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences Dr. S. B. Majumdar stated that special cooperation has been received by him from the state government especially from the CM Chouhan to set up institution in the state. We did not face any difficulty in investment due to the friendly policy of the state government. Sufficient land and facilities have been provided according to our need by the state government. Beside government, we have also received cooperation from the officers of the various departments, he added. Pro Chancellor Dr. Swati Majumdar said that foundation was laid four years ago for this institution. Building getting ready and beginning of the university is a matter of pride for all of us. For this, she expressed gratitude towards the state government, especially Chief Minister Chouhan, officials, public representatives and citizens. Dr Majumdar said that the University has focused on vocational education according to the wishes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Vice Chancellor Dr Kailash Shrivastav proposed the vote of thanks at the end. On the occasion, the University announced the introduction of MBA Executive and 15 new certificate courses from this year.

More than 800 students studying

The country’s only Skill Development University, Symbiosis started its first phase here in 2016. After two years, the university has started its functioning fully. The university has received very good response. More than 800 students are studying in five Schools of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance, Retail Management and E-commerce, Automobile and Manufacturing, Markets, Mechatronics, Computer Science and Information Technology. Courses like MBA, BFSI, BBA, RM, Automobile and Manufacturing, B-Tech, CSIT are being offered here. In the coming session, the university is planning to open community college under its corporate-social responsibilities. The aim of it is to make youth efficiently skilled through employment oriented courses in short duration. Also, the university is going to introduce MBA Executive Course and different certificate courses.

Chief Minister visits University campus

Chief Minister Chouhan visited the University campus and took detail of different trainings being imparted for skill development. He saw imported Germany Lucas Lab, the Financial Center, Training Bank, Retail Lab, Sales Lab etc. On the occasion, Mayor Smt Malini Gaud, Chief Minister’s wife Smt Sadhana Singh,Chairman of Indore Development Authority Shankar Lalwani, MLAs, Manoj Patel,Sudarshan Gupta, Ramesh Mendola, Mahendra Hardia and Sushri Usha Thakur, other public representative, officers, students and other dignitaries were present.
