Engineering student dies as bike rams into car

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Two youths who were riding a bicycle rammed into a car from behind late on Tuesday night near MP Nagar square. The youths were going from Kolar to Nadra Bus Stand for having dinner. One engineering student died in the mishap, while the other is injured. According to the information received from the police, Abhishek Rajak, 21, som of Gajendra Rajak, hailed from Mandla. He lived in Kolar in Bhopal. He was a student of BE Civil branch 3rd year from Radharam College. At about 11.30 pm on Tuesday, he left on his bike to have dinner along with his friend Amit who hails from Bihar. When they reached MP Nagar Square near Shaurya Smarak a car which was ahead of them suddenly applied brakes. The students on the bike rammed into the car and fell down on the road. Abhishek received serious head injuries and was declared dead at the hospital. Amit is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, where his condition is reported to be improving. The investigating officer said both the students were not wearing helmet at the time of accident. Abhishek could have been saved had he been wearing a helmet. Large number of students of Radharaman College gathered at Hamidia Hospital while Abhishek’s post-mortem was conducted. Deceased student’s family members had been informed and they were about to reach Bhopal.

2 held with gold at airport

Two people have been arrested along with 2.5 kg gold by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel during inspection at the Raja Bhoj International Airport here, airport sources said. Income Tax (IT) officials are interrogating the two youths.The duo had boarded a regular private flight from Mumbai to Bhopal this morning. The precious metal was found during inspection.
