Entry, exit gates shut at Chawri Bazar, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid metro stations


New Delhi, Entry and exit gates of three metro stations--Chawri Bazar, Lal Quila and Jama Masjid-- have been closed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday afternoon as a precautionary measure. 'Entry & exit gates of Chawri Bazar, Lal Quila and Jama Masjid are closed. Trains will not be halting at this station,' DMRC said in its official tweet.

Earlier, entry and exit gates of Jamia Millia Islamia and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh, which were closed by the DMRC on Friday morning as a precautionary measure, have been re-opened. Entry and exit gates at 18 metro stations including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat and Lok Kalyan Marg--which were among 20 metro stations closed by the DMRC on Thursday in wake of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) here, were re-opened last evening.
