Families of martyrs express shock at BJP calling Kejriwal 'terrorist'

New Delhi, People of Delhi are agitated and extremely upset with BJP for calling Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a ‘terrorist’, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed on Monday. “Especially the families of martyrs are particularly infuriated and shocked with Home Minister Amit Shah, Parvesh Verma and other leaders of BJP. The families of martyrs have claimed that Mr Kejriwal is the first Chief Minister who has gone out of his way to help the families of those who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation and its people. And to call such a leader as a ‘terrorist’ is nothing else but an insult of the supreme sacrifice made by their beloved,” the party said in a release.

'They credited the Rs one crore financial assistance received from the Kejriwal government for helping their families cope with the loss. The father of Delhi Police martyr Amarpal, proudly recalls how brave his son was and thanked Mr Kejriwal for taking care of them after their son was no more. He claimed that they no longer feel distressed but when he read the personal remarks made against Mr Kejriwal, by Mr Shah and Mr Verma in the newspaper, calling him a ‘terrorist’, then he felt let down. He complained that someone who worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people and the country, how can such a person be called a ‘terrorist’ and this crossed all limits of decency. Everyone considers Mr Kejriwal as their son and these sentiments will not be shaken by such foul statements,' the party said.

“Similar views were expressed by Narendra, a resident of Nangloi, whose father was working with the Delhi Fire Services before sacrificing his life in 2016. Narendra thanked Mr Kejriwal for paying attention to the plight of families of martyrs and come forward to assist them, which no other government did. He considered the statement calling Mr Kejriwal as a terrorist to be completely wrong. According to him, someone who has worked for the welfare of the people and the nation can’t ever be a terrorist. Narendra said that he considers Mr Kejriwal as an elder brother and will support him, no matter what,” the party added.
