Governor conducts surprise inspection of high security arrangements of new Central Jail


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel has expressed satisfaction over the concrete security arrangements made at the high security cell beside other facilities being provided to the prisoners like health and education and training in the jail after conducting a surprise inspection of the new Central Jail of Bhopal. She told the prisoners that they should pay special attention towards the education of their daughters and take care of their families after their release from the prison. The Governor met women prisoners and distributed toffees to their children. She planted sapling in the jail premises during the inspection. The Director General Jail Sanjay Chowdhary was present on the occasion. Smt. Patel obtained information about the sewing, knitting and embroidery besides other training being imparted to the women prisoners. She also inspected the Gudiya Kendra and gave instructions for wide publicity arrangements for sale of the items being prepared by the women prisoners. She also appreciated the sanitation and gardening in the jail. Moreover, the Governor inspected the industrial workshop and library in the jail. She observed cooler and cloth weaving works being carried out by the prisoners. She gathered information about the quality of food and quantity, while inspecting the kitchen and expressed satisfaction over the food arrangement. Smt. Patel met ill and injured prisoners in the jail hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. Vande Matram and devotional songs were presented by the prisoners’ orchestra during her inspection of kala and sahitya Kendra at jail.
