Indian culture and civilization secure due to teachers: Governor


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel said that teachers have made special contribution in the struggle for country’s independence. Teachers have also struggled for protecting the country’s culture and civilization from the influence of English and European culture. The Governor was addressing the teachers’ felicitation program organized by Bansal group today. Principal Secretary to the Governor Dr. M. Mohan Rao, teachers students were present on the occasion. Governor Smt. Patel said that our ancient culture and education has been eroded during the British rule. Hence English language was promoted in place of our mother tongue Hindi. She said that it is a matter of concern that we have prayer service till higher secondary school but not in colleges. Smt. Patel said that we should pay attention to women particularly girls in rural areas. Tradition of conducting marriages at a tender age is still rampant in rural areas. She said that Prime Minister is making serious efforts for education and development of girls through his Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao slogan. The Governor said that even today parents want sons and not daughters which is very wrong. Even Gods reside where women are respected. Women today are working in parallel with men. Smt. Patel said that we should resolve to create awareness towards Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao in rural areas. Governor Smt. Patel laid stress on importance of nutrition in Anganwadi Kendras and primary schools. She presented mementos and letters of citation to 70 teachers and 8 outstanding students for their contribution. Secretary of Bansal Group Engineer Sunil Bansal enlightened on the activities of the Group.
