India's global profile enhanced under Modi, says Sushma

New Delhi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Monday that India's global profile and prestige have gone up significantly since the NDA regime under Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office. The Minister made the remarks in her welcome address at an interactive session between Prime Minister Modi and the Indians heads of missions and envoys abroad. Indian envoys and senior diplomats from foreign missions have assembled in New Delhi for the 9th Heads of Missions Conference. As part of their interaction, the senior diplomats have already held meetings with President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. During his interactions with the Heads of Missions on June 30, the President Kovind has said: "The litmus test of our engagement with the external world is what we are able to do to propel domestic growth and development". Indian diplomats are doing well on this account, he has but maintained that there is expectation for much more, especially when the country aspires for transformational change. For his part, Vice President Mr Naidu told the diplomats during his engagement with them on Sunday that they should take a proactive role in shaping global position against terrorism, black money and the fugitives.
