The capital of India – New Delhi and capital of Nepal – Kathmandu will be linked with rail connectivity upto 2022. The Nepalese Prime Minister Mr.KP Sharma Oli on visit to India these days have reached an agreement with India.
The China is also establishing rail link with Nepal. Both the nations reached an agreement in 2016 and China has started work of rail project. It has come upto Tibet within few years the Kathmandu will be international rail junction of Nepal-India and China railways.
Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Mr.Oli. Mr.Modi said besides rail link both the nations will have inland water connectivity and it will make Nepal to have water link with India.
They reviewed multifacet ties between the two countries. Mr.Modi said India will always stand by Nepal in its quest for allround growth. He expressed the hope the deeper cooperation between us would strengthen the democracy in Nepal.
They underlined the need for expeditious implementation of bilateral projects in Nepal. They worked out new partnership in agricultural.
Nepal is a land locked country between India and China. In its east, south and west is connected with Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and in the north with China. Geographically it nation is divided the north hill Nepal and the south is plain Nepal, where Madeshi of Indian origin reside. They are settled for centuries but in the new Republic Constitution they are not given equal status of citizen.
They are agitating for and recently they blocked the entire import from India and Nepal faced scarcity in all the commodities. India has nothing to do with Madeshi issue, but they being of Indian origin has created some political problem for India.
They sought import from China, but it was very costly because of rough transports in hills. The people of Nepal feel homely in trading with India.Obviously being located between India and China it has to exists with maintaining balance in relationship.
Nepal is Hindu by religious with national deity Lord Shiv in Pashupathnath form. All of its rivers flow down into India. In Indian Army there is Gorkha Regiment. Most of its trade and shops are owned by Indian. The Nepalese Prime Minister Mr.Oli addressing India-Nepal Business Forum asked the Indian business to come to Nepal to make investment.
Both Mr.Modi and Mr.Oli vow to deepen mutual trust and take their relations to newer heights.
