Kathmandu plane crash: More than 50 feared killed


  Kathmandu, A US-Bangla Airlines aircraft flying from Dhaka to Kathmandu on Monday crashed while landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) here, killing more than 50 people according to the sources. As many as 71 persons, including four crew members, were on-board the aircraft, of which 33 were Nepali nationals. Twenty-five people were rescued from the fallen aircraft and taken to a hospital in Sinamangal. However, seven of those rescued were pronounced dead upon arrival, according to TIA Spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur. “The plane shoot off the run away while it was about to crash into the hanger and immediately caught fire,” an airport official said, according to The Himalayan Times. Several fire-fighting engines and ambulances were rushed to the accident site immediately as news of the crash broke.The officials suspect technical glitch as the cause of the incident.
