Swami Vivekanand Jayanti, Chitragupt felicitation function and New Year get together was held at Pradhan Mandapam at Hoshangabad Road on the occasion of Makar Sankranti,.
On this occasion the Kayastha Mandal honoured six couples of the community who have completed 50 years of married life, seven senior Chitranshs who have completed 75 years of age, 10 retired Chitranshs and 10 other members of the community who have given remarkable contribution in various fields.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the guests by performing aarti of Lord Chitragupt.They lighted the traditional lamp and paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekanandji.
Chief guest Bhopal MP Alok Sanjar made an appeal to the members of the Kayastha community to preserve feeling of brotherhood and work for the society while following the ideals of Swami Vivekanand.
Special guest and senior scribe Mahesh Shrivastava said we should follow on the path of Swami Vivekanand and honour the senior members of the community.
The special guests present at the programme included Barkatullah University V-C Prof. Pramod Kumar Verma, Kayastha Mandal patron former MLA Shailendra Pradhan and Smt. Suhas Pradhan, senior Congress leader Ravi Saxena and retired district judge Bharat Bhushan. A mini poetic symposium was also organized after the felicitation ceremony.
Chief guest Alok Sanjar and other guests felicitated the poets. Functionaries of other Kayastha Mandals of the city were also present at the programme.
