Kejriwal, Sisodia, ministers take oath as members of Delhi Legislative Assembly


New Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday took oath as members of the 7th Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday. The three-day session is the first after the Aam Admi Party registered a landslide victory in the recently concluded polls. Mr Kejriwal, Mr Sisodia and cabinet ministers took oath first. It was followed by other members, constituency wise.

After taking oath, members assumed their seats in the House. The oath was administered by pro tem speaker and Matia Mahal MLA Shoaib Iqbal. The election of the speaker of the Assembly will be held later on Monday .

Four-time Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ramveer Singh Bidhuri was appointed as the Leader of Opposition after he was unanimously elected by the BJP MLAs as Leader of the Legislative party. The 70- member Delhi legislative assembly comprises of 62 AAP MLAs and eight BJP MLAs. The Congress failed to win a single seat in the recent election.
