It was a slur on Mr.Vajpayee that his such a vital announcement was ignored.

Earlier it was decided that Centre will contribute in the cost on the basis of 60 per cent by the Central Government and 40 per cent by both the State Government 20 per cent each. Now the Centre has decided to contribute 90 per cent cost it and the MP and UP will share 10 per cent divided by five per cent for each of them.
The total cost of the Ken-Betwa project is 18,000 crores of rupees. The project will pave the way for all other river linking projects as a model project.
