New Delhi, The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a review petition filed by historian Romila Thapar, seeking to revisit its judgement which had declined to give a go-ahead for a Special Investigation Team probe in connection with the arrests of five social activists in the alleged Koregaon Bhima violence which had aroused sectarian passions.
"We dismiss the review petition. There is no merit in it," ruled a three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi.
'We have perused the Review Petition. In our opinion, no case for review of judgment dated 28th September, 2018 is made out. The review petition is accordingly dismissed,' the bench, also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud, said in its order.
Ms Thapar had knocked the doors of the apex court, seeking a review of its earlier judgement which had declined to initiate a SIT probe in the case.
