Kunal, Shashank bag gold; Ansh, Latika win silver medals


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal In the World Taekwondo Malaysia Open Grade One Championship held in Malaysia from 1st to 4th March 2018, Taekwondo Academy players Kunal Dhosle and Shashank Singh Patel won two gold while Ansh Dandotiya and Latika Bhandari won two silver medals for the country. Kunal Dhosle won gold in 73 kg category and Shashank Singh Patel won a gold medal in 78 kg category. Likewise, Ansh Dandotiya won silver medal in 51 kg and Latika Bhandari won silver medal in 53 kg category. It is noteworthy that Shashank Patel won two gold medals in Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship and Canada Open Taekwondo Championship held in November 2017. Also, Latika won a silver medal in Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship. Similarly, academy player Ansh Dandotiya won a silver medal in Malaysia Open Taekwondo Championship and Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship each. Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated the medal-winning players and said that they have made the state and the country proud with their brilliant performance at the international level. Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Mr. Upendra Jain also appreciated the performance of Taekwondo Academy players. It is worth mentioning that these players have training under the guidance of Chief Coach Mr. B.L.N. Murthy.
