Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan creates furore, throws papers in Lok Sabha


New Delhi, The Madhepura MP from Bihar, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, on Thursday created unruly scenes in Lok Sabha when he started throwing away papers in the House aiming towards ruling bench resulting in heated argument between him and the ruling side. As soon as the House assembled to begin day's proceedings, Mr Yadav walked into the House and started raising anti-government slogans and demanded that Bihar should be quickly granted the Special Category status. Mr Yadav, standing in front of the ruling bench row, threw papers provoking among others Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh the most. Both started exchanging heated words also. Even as Speaker Sumitra Mahajan allowed taking up of Question Hour - the first question pertaining to the Ministry of Sports - Mr Yadav was still engaged in argument with Minister Giriraj Singh. Ms Mahajan expressed her unhappiness with the member's conduct and said: "Those who come elected to the House should know their own responsibilities". At one point, she also cautioned Madhera MP saying, if he did not go back to his seat, she would be compelled to name him. Senior Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Ananth Kumar (Parliamentary Affairs) immediately rushed to Mr Yadav and persuaded him to go back to his seat. According to sources close to the MP, Mr Yadav has given a notice for debate in the House on the need to grant Special Category status to the state of Bihar.
