Madhya Pradesh girls lose to Uttarakhand


Junior National Hockey Championship

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Hockey Coorg, Karnataka, Bengaluru, Bengal Hockey Association, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand won their respective matches in boys’ category.

Teams of Bihar and Rajasthan won in girls’ category

Three matches of girls’ category and 9 matches of boys’ category were played on the third day of the 8th Junior National Hockey Championship, 2018, which is being organized by Hockey India in cooperation with the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, MP. On the third day in the girls’ category, Hockey Bihar Hockey Gujarat 14-0, Hockey Rajasthan beat Andhra Hockey Association 4-3, Hockey Central India drew with Vidarbha Hockey Association 1-1. In the boys’ category matches, Hockey Coorg beat Hockey Andhra Pradesh 5-2, Hockey Karnataka beat Hockey Central India 5-3, Bengaluru Hockey Association beat Hockey Pondicherry 4-1, Bengal Hockey Association beat Jammu & Kashmir 8-0, Hockey Uttarakhand beat Hockey Madhya Pradesh 7-3, Hockey Rajasthan beat Kerala Hockey 7-2, Hockey Bihar beat Telangana Hockey 8-1, Punjab National Bank beat Hockey Him 5-4, Sports Authority of Gujarat- Hockey Academy drew with Assam Hockey 2-2. Earlier on Day 2, the match between Central India and Namdhari XI ended in a tie. Madhya Pradesh gained walkover due to the absence of Andaman and Nicobar Under the 8th Junior National Hockey Championship, 2018, being played in Bhopal,7 matches of girls’ category and 9 matches of boys’ category (B- division) were played on the second day. Out of these, 7 matches were played at Aishbagh Stadium, 5 matches at Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium and 4 matches were played at Sports Authority of India (SAI) Stadium. Players from across the country have exhibited a brilliant performance of their talent to earn the victory for their respective teams.

Tomorrow’s matches

Under the girls’ category of the championship, 3 matches each at Aishbagh Stadium and major Dhyanchand Stadium while 2 matches at SAI Hockey Stadium will be played from 7 am. Also, 2 matches of boys’ category will be played each at Aishbagh Stadium, Major Dhyanchand Stadium and SAI Hockey Stadium starting at 4:30 pm.
