Makhanlal Chaturvedi students make film on menstrual hygiene


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Makhanlal Chaturvedi B Sc Electronics student Sweta Dutta with her friend Upasana Verma have made a documentary on menstrual hygiene named as “Womanhood - A Documentary on Menstrual Hygiene”. Its duration is 11 minute 22 seconds where they have told all aspects of menstruation that it is a natural biological process and it is a nature’s gift not a taboo and told about the importance of menstrual hygiene, how to maintain this, sanitary napkins should be used not clothes and what are the bad aspects of poor menstrual hygiene and diseases that caused due to this. They have talked to girls and women as well as gynaecologist about the same.Shooting has been done in Bhopal and Baccha village in Betul district. This documentary is completed in five days. Main person associated with this documentary is Sweta Dutta, Upasana Verma, Manoj Patel and Ruby Rajawat. Documentary is directed by Sweta Dutta. The documentary has been sent to National Science Film Festival and it has been selected and now its screening will be done between 21-24 February, 2018 during the festival which will be held in Guwahati, Assam. This film will be published on YouTube channel “Made in Media (MIM)” on 13 January. Sweta has made many videos on social issues and has made interview series with many famous dignities like Nobel Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, Super 30 fame Anand Kumar, etc.
