Man duped of Rs 14 crore in name of courier company

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal A case of cheating to the tune of Rs 14 lakh in the name of courier company has come to the fore under MP Nagar police station. Police said both the accused have been arrested. MP Nagar police informed that plaintiff Jai Avtani, 48, resident of TT Nagar, had complained that he opened a courier company at G-6 Sanchi Complex at Board Office Square in February 2014. The accused persons had suggested to Jai to open the courier company. The accused had duped Jai of Rs 14 lakh in the name of opening the courier company and as processing charges. After about three months the company’s work was finished. When Jai tried to contact the accused, their mobiles were switched off. Police said Jai made several rounds of Tamil Nadu, but he could not meet the suspects. Later the victim submitted a complaint at the police station. Police have registered a case and two of the suspects have been arrested. Those arrested have been identified as RM Shivkumar and Shantamurti, residents of Tamil Nadu.

Youth dies as bike hits garbage bin

A 22-year-old youth died after his motorbike hit a garbage bin in a bid to avert collision with another youth who was crossing the road. The mishap took place near Elixir garden under Nishatpura police station area on Friday morning. Both the youths were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where the youth riding the bike was declared dead. The youth who was crossing the road sustained multiple injuries. The deceased was identified as Sunil Valmiki while the injured was identified as Raman Sharma (24). The incident took place at around 11 am when Raman was crossing the road and Sunil could not control his speeding bike and hit Raman and later rammed into a garbage container which proved fatal for him. The deceased was a resident of Ayodhya Nagar. The injured youth sustained fracture in his leg and was referred to Global hospital for treatment, his condition is reportedly stable. The body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered.

Truck hits school bus

Meanwhile, a school bus driver, conductor and two students had a close shave after their bus turned turtle when a truck hit the bus near Ashima Mall under Misrod police station area in the early morning hour on Friday. The truck bearing registration number MP09H7240 hit school bus bearing registration number MP04PA2047 of Asnani School in which two students were present along with bus driver and conductor. The driver, conductor and two students escaped with minor injuries. The truck driver escaped the spot leaving the bus. During the investigation it was found that the truck took a wrong turn in the lane and hit the back end of the bus which turned it turtle. Police have registered a case under section 279 and 337 of the IPC.
