March held to protest against attacks on Dalits, minorities


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal A foot march was taken out on Sunday under the leadership of former secretary of MP Congress Committee (MPCC) Nasir Islam to protest against communal attacks on Dalits and minorities and the violence in the country. Large number of Congress workers holding placards took part in the march. The march started from Itwara Chauraha at about 2.30pm and headed towards Mangalwara. Youths participating in the march raised slogans. The march culminated at Mangalwara. Addressing the protesters, Nasir Islam said communal attacks on Dalits and minorities are being made in a pre-planned manner. Many people have lost their lives in these attacks. Many people belonging to the BJP attacked at a programme organized by the Dalits at Pune district’s Bhima Koregaon. Islam said communal attacks on Dalits and minorities are also taking place in the Madhya Pradesh. Recently a youth Ishan Gauhar committed suicide due to harassment but the police have not taken any action against the culprits due to the pressure of BJP leaders. Nasir Islam said the Congress would hold demos in the capital if attacks on Dalits and minorities did not stop. Congress workers and leaders including Jitendra Singh, Pervez Khan, Meena Yadav, Majid Khan, Pervez Qureshi, Rizwan Khan, Zahid Khan, Chandu Bhai, Faheem Khan, Naseem Khan, Shakeel Qureshi, Kamal Pasha, Zuber Khan, Mehmood Pathan, Nazeem Khan, Saud Khan, Alatmas Khan,Zunaid Khan, Nikki Chavaria, Ashish gauhar, Kapil Malik and others were present on the occasion.
