Modi to address farmers rally at Midnapore in Mamata ruled-West Bengal


New Delhi, Stepping up its campaign in West Bengal especially eying to consolidate the gains it made in recent panchayat polls, the BJP is organising a farmers' rally at at Midnapore town in West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the farmers rally and is likely to largely focus on the Centre's recent decision to increase the MSP of Kharif crops. Prime Minister's rally will come about 49 years later when the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi last addressed a rally at West Bengal's rural Midnapore town, the district headquarters of West Midnapore district. Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has also adopted more aggressive stance lately against the Narendra Modi government on various governance related issues.
