More than 12 feared killed, scores injured in fire mishap


Raxaul, More than 12 passengers were feared killed and several others injured, when a Delhi-bound luxurious bus from Muzaffarpur caught fire under Kotwa police station area in East Champaran district on Thursday. Police said here that around 65 passengers were travelling on the bus, when it skidded off the road near Bangra village and later caught fire. At least 12 people were feared charred to death, while around 50 sustained burn injuries in the incident. "All the injured have been rushed to a local hospital", police said, adding that two fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. Senior police officers and officials of the district administration reached the spot to supervise the relief and rescue operation.
