Nath’s Scorecard

With the Lok Sabha polls round the corner, Chief Minister Kamal Nath has presented his Scorecard claiming to have fulfilled 83 promises which were maintained in the congress manifesto of the party during the Assembly elections. Kamal Nath has also said that the promises have been fulfilled in the record period of 76 days. It is obvious that Kamal Nath has been trying to please the people of Madhya Pradesh to better result of the party in the Lok Sabha elections. Encouraged by the results of the Vidhan Sabha polls, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister is leaving no stone unturned to make his dispension popular in the state and bag maximum number of Lok Sabha seats. This is very clear as he has claimed to win 25 seats out of the total 29 parliamentary seats in the state. Immediately after coming to power, the Congress had decided to propagate Nath Government’s achievements and decisions that had direct bearing on people’s lives. After taking reigns of the state, Kamal Nath wasted no time and on the very first day of taking over the office had signed the first file of loan waiver of the Madhya Pradesh farmers. Though Kamal Nath had inherited empty coffers when he took charge as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, he showed a firm resolve to waive off Rs.10,000 crore farm loans of 25 lakh farmers, waived power tariff of poor families, increased pension of destitute and increased the assistance for daughter’s marriage of poor families to Rs.51,000/-. The scorecard of Kamal Nath government is impressive and would certainly help his party in the parliamentary elections.
