No objection in handing over Kathua rape case to CBI: Jitendra


Jammu, Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that the Centre has no objection to hand over the Kathua rape and murder case to the CBI, provided the State Government comes out with a reference. “As far as we are concerned, we don’t have any problem or objection to hand over the case to the CBI,” Dr Singh told reporters at the sidelines of a function. He however, said that if the State Government comes out with a reference, the case will be handed over to the agency on Tuesday itself. “The court was another option through which the case could go to the CBI,” said Dr Singh, adding that as per his knowledge, a petition (for a CBI probe) is pending there. Earlier, after the inauguration of the off-campus accommodation for the Government Ayurvedic Medical College Jammu, in the premises of Government Ayurvedic hospital here, Dr Singh in his address congratulated the people of Jammu for getting the gift of Ayurvedic College. He said, “It was a long pending demand of this region which has been met by the Central Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said and added that Jammu and Kashmir has huge herbal medicinal potential and Central Government will tap it appropriately. He appreciated the efforts of State Health Minister Bali Bhagat for bringing the health sector on track. He added the Government of India will take more effective steps to upgrade the health sector with special emphasis on AYUSH sector, adding “ Prime Minister Narender Modi is very keen to promote the AYUSH sector across the country as this century old traditional medicare system is trusted and affordable for all and without any side effect”.
