Nursing students go on strike


Bhopal: Nursing students staged a dharna at Neelam Park, in the capital on Monday over other pending demands, including introducing recruitment of male nurses in government departments, creating uniform recruitment rules for government and private college students However, after the assurance of the Health Minister to complete the pending demands, the strike has ended. President of the Nursing Students Association, Gopal Parashar, said that the nursing students had gone on a hunger strike to meet the issue of nursing sector included in the Congress promissory note. After forming the government, the Congress party went against the promise and forgot our issues, which led to us launching a hunger strike. Gopal Parashar said, “We are asking the government to start government recruitment of male nurses and the quota of male nurse should be kept at least 40 per cent.”
