Islamabad, Even as Pakistan on Wednesday went to the vote to choose a new government, the northwestern city of Quetta experienced a powerful blast that killed at least 26 people.
According to the reports reaching here, a police van stationed near a polling station was the target.
Approximately 30 injured have been shifted to the hospitals.
Samaa TV said a "suicide attacker" was responsible for the attack. Television images showed a charred police vehicle, cordoned off by security officials.
