Pakistan President, PM denounce Mastung, Bannu terrorist attacks

Islamabad, Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain and caretaker Prime Minister retired Justice Nasirul Mulk have condemned the dastardly terrorists attacks in Mastung and Bannu which claimed over 130 lives. Expressing deep grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives in the blasts, they directed for providing the best medical facilities to the injured, a report in Radio Pakistan said on Saturday. Caretaker Prime Minister Mulk telephoned caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Allaudin Marri and directed him to provide details of the incident. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, DG ISPR said attempts of inimical forces to derail important democratic activity shall not succeed. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Bilawal Bhuto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek I Insaf Imran Khan and Convener MQM Pakistan Khalid Maqbool Sidique in their separate condemnation statements have denounced the coward acts. At least 128 people, including politician Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, were killed and more than 200 injured in a deadly suicide blast in Balochistan's Mastung district on Friday afternoon, Balochistan Home Minister Agha Umar Bangulzai was quoted as saying by Dawn NewsTV. The Mastung bombing, the deadliest of a string of attacks since the 2014 carnage at Peshawar's Army Public School, targeted politically active persons ahead of the July 25 election. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack through its Amaq news agency. A blast targeted former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Akram Khan Durrani's convoy in Bannu early Friday. While Mr Durrani remained safe, four people were killed and 32 others injured in the attack.
