Players honing their skills at talent selection programme

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal In the talent search program started from 4 April 2018 at T.T. Nagar Stadium, many players are exhibiting their talents in various sports. About 5000 players of the states have applied via online and offline mediums to participate in the Selection Trial program, which will be held till 9th June 2018. Under the Talent Selection program, about 200 players participated in the Archery Trial on 4th April, while 200 players also participated in the Tennis Day-boarding Trial on 9th April and the Badminton Day-boarding Trail on 12th April to prove their mettle. In the trial organised for Athletics, many players enthusiastically showcased their talents in 800m Race and Standing Broad Jump. This trial will also continue on 14th April considering the large number of applicants. During the talent search process, players are tested for fitness through modern equipment. Under this program, Takewondo, Badminton, Swimming and Women’s Hockey trials will be organised on 16th, 18th, 20th and 25th of April respectively. Likewise, Wrestling, Shooting, Men’s hockey, fencing, Karate, Volleyball, Boxing, Rowing, Equestrian, Kayaking-Canoeing, Sailing and Judo trials will be held on 4th May, 5th May, 7th May, 11th May, 18th May, 20th May, 28th May, 4th June, 5th June, 6th June, 8th June and 9th June respectively. It is worth mentioning that academy players have been provided with free of cost residential, food and medical facilities along with high-level sports training. Through these academies, the players get better chances to exhibit their talents with national and international tournament exposure. As a result of which players of the academy are bringing laurels to the state by winning medals.
