The visit of Congress President Mr.Rahul Gandhi to Mandsaur area has scared the State Government of Bhartiya Janata Party as it is linked with the Kisan agitation there. The Congress has said that Kisan agitation is not sponsored by the Congress but it was definitely lending support to it.
The Bhartiya Janata Party considers the Mandsaur and Neemuch, Ratlam areas as its political citadel. Although in the past both the parties were made serious inroads into each other fortress.
At Jaora Assembly Seat the Jan Sangh candidate Laxmi Narain Pande defeated the Congress Chief Minister Mr.Kailash Nath Katju and he was many time Member of Parliament from Mandsaur but in 2009 election Youth Congress leader Meenakshi Natrajan defeated him on this seat. Once Balkavi Bairagi of Congress defeated Sunderlal Patwa in his home town Assembly seat of Manasa.
Last year in June, 6 Kisan were killed in police firing during the Kiasan agitation on price crash in farm production. In this month of June it is the first death anniversary of that episode and Congress will take all the advantage on it to smash the BJP in the coming Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections in its own citadel.
Before the visit of Mr.Rahul Gandhi the Chief Minister Mr.Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid a targeted visit to Mandsaur for damage control and announced many schemes for Kisan.
But there is one sore point that after firing Justice Jain Judicial Commission was appointed to probe into firing yet not submitted the report.
