Rajya Sabha has set a record, observes Naidu, as it completes pre-lunch proceedings

New Delhi, After witnessing frequent disruptions and adjournments last month, the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday completed all listed pre-lunch Zero Hour and Question Hour proceedings. Chairman M Venkiah Naidu observed that the Rajya Sabha had set a record as all Zero Hour submissions and Special mentions had been successful and all the listed questions were covered in the Question Hour. He, however, expressed displeasure with some of the members who had listed questions against their name, not turning up. "So all questions were covered today. Five or six members did not turn up. They are at a liberty not to do so but so much work goes into making questions. We have a responsibility. Not coming to the House is not a good practice.' Appealing to members, he said, "my operation depends on your cooperation.'Fifteen questions were listed and the House managed to reach the last query. However, five to six questions were passed over as the questioners were not present.
