Resolve to make city, state and country number one


  Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal , Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called upon the citizens of Bhopal to resolve to make the city, state and country number one. He said that life will become meaningful only when Bharat Mata is honoured by everyone. The construction work of Bharat Mata temple will start soon in Bhopal. 14 acres of land has been selected for the venue. Chouhan was addressing the audience before the staging of the play ‘Bhor-Subhor Bhopal’ based on the merger movement at Bharat Bhawan today. Mayor Alok Sharma, MP Alok Sanjar was also present at the programme. On this occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated Director of the play Bhor-Subhor Bhopal Alok Chatterjee, writer Sunil Mishra, Vice President of Rashtriya Ekta Parishad M.P. Ramesh Sharma, senior journalist Shiv Anurag Pateria and Cinematographer Kamlesh Gemini. Chouhan said that the merger of Bhopal state in the Union of India happened after the struggle. The fighters had to fight till the last drop of their blood. He remembered freedom fighters, Uddhavdas Mehta and Shankardayal Sharma and paid respect. He referred to incident of firing on soldiers of the merger at Boras ghat situated in Udaipura of Raisen. He mentioned the need to organise regular events related to martyrs memorial programme for freedom and self-respect. He lauded the initiative of Bhopal Municipal Corporation to remember the martyrs of merger of Bhopal state. Referring to the incidents related to Rani Kamlapati of Bhopal, Raja Bhoj, who established Bhopal, Chouhan said that her statue is being set up in the Lower Lake where Queen Kamlapati had taken Jal Samadhi. He told about the background of the names of Halali dam and Lalghati. He also recalled Sardar Patel’s contribution in the merger of the Princely states.
