Mumbai, The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) continued its gaining streak on sixth day on Monday when it rose by 46.70 points to end the volatile session on a positive note at 36,241.00 on back of buying in Realty, Power, IT and Technology stocks. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too went up by 7 points to 10,883.75. The sectoral indices like Utilities, Power, Realty, Technology and IT supported the market sentiment for the sixth straight session today, along with scrips of Yes Bank, HUL, VEDL, NTPC and Bharti Airtel. While Sun Pharma, M&M, ITC and Hero MotoCorp declined during the day that restricted its further gains, brokers said. The broader markets ended firm, as the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index and Small-Cap rose by 0.46 per cent each. The market breadth was positive on BSE, as 1,319 shares advanced against 1,264 declined and 196 were unchanged.
