Narendra Modi govt ‘name changer’ not ‘game changer’: Congress

Agencies, New Delhi Calling the NDA government at the Centre as ‘a master in packaging and repackaging’, the Congress on Monday said it should not call itself a “game changer” but a “name changer”. Participating in the debate in the Rajya Sabha on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, taking a dig at the BJP, said the government had nothing new to offer but had only changed the names of schemes launched by the UPA government. Mr Azad said some of the schemes whose names were changed and launched by the Narendra Modi-led government were ‘Swachch Bharat’, ‘Jan Dhan Yojna’, ‘Soil Health Card scheme’, ‘Atal Pension Yojna’, ‘Skill India’ and the scheme for neem coated urea. Calling the government as an ‘expert in packaging and repackaging’, Mr Azad said, ‘we don’t know the art of packaging and repackaging. If at all there is a global tendering on packaging and repackaging it will be the BJP who will get it.’
