Traffic Control


The Madhya Pradesh Police is updating and organizing its traffic systems according to guidelines and directions of the Supreme Court. It has resulted in the reduction of road accidents in the State. About 700 police jawans are given to Traffic Police for the posting in the districts. In 38 districts trauma centres are established and work is in progress in 11 more districts. The Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police are being given powers to challan to the vehicles. Uptill now about 7 to 8 lakh vehicles were challaned for violations traffic regulations and accidents. Those who will be guilty for more than three accidents their licenses will be cancelled. The Supreme Court has directed that under the chairmanship of local Member of Parliament district level Traffic Security Committees be formed and State is taking it step in that direction. The maintenance of the roads as not a police job but it is also a grave problem and cause of many road accidents.
