101 gram panchayats of Singrauli district declared ODF

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Singrauli district will not be left to lag behind in the race of development. The city will be turned into a mini smart city. The Chief Minister was addressing the unorganized labourers convention at Baidhan headquarters of Singrauli. Chouhan declared 101 gram panchayats of the district open defecation free (ODF). Giving information about the Jan Kalyan Yojana CM Chouhan told labourers that this compact scheme is being implemented to make benefits of various schemes easily accessible to the labourers. Labourers of all categories will be benefitted from this scheme. A five-member committee will be made in each gram panchayat for better implementation and constant monitoring of the scheme. He said that permanent houses will be made for every poor person in Prime Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme.

Benefits of various schemes given to beneficiaries

CM Chouhan distributed benefits of various schemes to beneficiaries at the convention. Identity cards were distributed to more than one lakh registered labourers. Nine women labourers were benefitted under Mukhya Mantri Jan-Kalyan Yojana. As many as 485 beneficiaries of forest rights and 3564 beneficiaries of non-interference residential land were granted pattas. Chouhan handed over certificates of interest waiver of more than Rs 1 lakh 74 thousand to farmer Fujwat Prasad Pandey and Mansharam Bais from Maindholi village under Rin Samadhan Yojana. Cheques of bank credit linkage worth Rs 2 crore 63 lakhs were given to 45 self-help groups of Devsar development block and 91 self-help groups of Chitrangi block. Recurring fund amount of Rs 50 thousand was granted to 5 self-help groups constituted under National Urban Livelihood Mission run in Singrauli Nagar Palika Nigam. Foundation and dedication of development works worth Rs 90 crore 48 lakhs CM Chouhan laid the foundation and dedicated development works worth Rs 90 crore 48 lakhs at the convention. Women from the self-help groups presented a gift pack of products manufactured by the groups to CM Chouhan. District Minister in charge Rajendra Shukla, MP Sushri Riti Pathak, MLA Sarvashri Ramlallu Bains, Rajendra Meshram, Chairman of Vindhya Development Authority Subhasha Singh, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Shahari/Gramin Asangathit Karmakar Kalyan Mandal Sultan Singh Shekhawat, District Panchayat President Ajay Pathak,Municipal Corporation Chairman Chandrapratap Vishwakarma, other public representatives and a large number of unorganized labourers were present on the occasion.
