  • Allegation: BJP scared of possible victory of Congress in Madhya Pradesh
  • Says: Congress government is being formed with huge majority
  • Raids not on scammers, but on those who struggle
  • Nervous central government doing this to exert pressure

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Tuesday alleged that Income Tax (IT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) offices are being opened at various places in the state and the government, worried about the possible victory of Congress, is planning to raid the opposition. During a discussion with reporters after the meeting of Lok Sabha observers of the Congress Committee at the residence of State Congress President Kamal Nath, Singh said that today a consensus has been formed everywhere and all the surveys are also showing that the Congress will form the government in the state with an overwhelming majority. In such a situation, information is coming that IT and ED offices are being opened at various places in the state and officers are being posted there so that raids can be conducted on the opposition.

He said that the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will not raid the scammers, rather this government is going to raid the people who are struggling outside of power, but the people of Congress are not afraid.

It is noteworthy that former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh leaves no stone unturned in cornering the opposition and keeps targeting them through tweets. At present, this statement of his has once again started political rhetoric.

We are not afraid

Digvijay Singh further said, in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, ED/IT is behind our ministers, officers, employees and from the Chief Minister to the staff. The nervous BJP and the central government are making all these arrangements to exert pressure. We are not afraid. Those who have accumulated undeclared wealth should be afraid.

Empire of corruption in Madhya Pradesh

He alleged that there is an empire of corruption in Madhya Pradesh, if ED IT offices are opening here then they should target the corrupt officials, but the government is planning to raid the opposition. In the context of the meeting, Singh said that All India Congress Committee President and Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal has appointed his representative in every parliamentary constituency and they will work with AICC, state committee and grassroots organization in that area till the election results are declared.
