Bhopal: No new case of Covid-19 has been found in Bhopal. The department is continuously evaluating the preparedness from time to time to deal with public health emergencies. Under which continuous monitoring is being done to ensure health services infrastructure and health service delivery. It is noteworthy that the number of positive and active patients of Covid-19 is increasing again.
According to the World Health Organization, cases of new variants of Covid are increasing in China, America and Singapore from December 2023. In view of this, health institutions have been directed to take action as per the Test, Track and Treatment action plan for monitoring and control. In this regard, mock drills have also been organized in government and private health institutions in the past. In which evaluation has been done for ambulances, supply of medical oxygen, efficiency of oxygen plants, availability of beds in hospitals, availability of isolation wards, human resource capacity, capacity of Covid testing, availability of tele medicine services, availability of logistics.
Over 15000 hospital beds available in Bhopal
At present more than 15 thousand hospital beds are available in Bhopal district. More than three and a half thousand oxygen support beds are available in hospitals. Along with this, more than two thousand ICU beds and 750 ventilator beds are functional. More than 4 thousand doctors, more than six and a half thousand nursing officers, 2 thousand paramedical staff and 150 ambulances are available in the district. 30 oxygen plants with capacity of more than 21 thousand liters are operational. There is a provision of more than one thousand oxygen concentrators and more than 5 thousand oxygen cylinders in Bhopal district. All necessary medicines, masks and PPE kits are also available in sufficient numbers.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari said that health institutions have been directed to work as per all the prescribed protocols including testing based on the symptoms of Covid-19. No case of Covid-19 infection has been found in Bhopal district. There is no need to be afraid of Covid but vigilance is necessary. All major government and private medical colleges and hospitals have adequate capacity for liquid oxygen storage.
