Chronicle Reporter, Jabalpur
While hearing the petitions filed in connection with Bhopal Gas Tragedy, the High Court Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Vishal Jain’s division bench has issued orders that within a week, the Secretary of Health and Family Welfare of the State Government and Director BMHRC should hold a joint meeting and prepare a final action plan regarding digitization of medical reports of affected patients.
The division bench has made a harsh remark and said that the non-applicant is not serious about completing the work on the prescribed points. The division bench has scheduled the next hearing on the petition on 18th February.
During the hearing of the petition, the reply presented in the affidavit by the government said that the medical records before the year 2014 are very old, so only 3000 pages can be scanned per day. According to estimates, this work will take about 550 days. The final deadline can be announced after the work starts. Apart from this, a proposal has been received from NIC for setting up a cloud server under the e-hospital project. The proposal is pending with the Finance Department for financial approval. The budget will be allocated in the financial year 2025-26. After this, the scanned records will be incorporated in the said server.
