Putin dismisses accusations that Russia is behind unrest in West

Kazan, Oct 25 (UNI) Accusations against Russia that it is allegedly behind the unrest in some Western capitals are complete nonsense, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during talks with Milorad Dodik, the leader of Republika Srpska, one of two entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.

“Today at a press conference, a question was asked whether we are behind the unrest in some Western capitals. This is complete nonsense… We do not have such tools,” Putin said.

He said Russia does not want confrontation but is following its own path.

The BRICS summit was held in Kazan on October 22-24.

BRICS is an intergovernmental association created in 2006. Russia assumed the BRICS presidency on January 1, 2024. The year began with the accession of new members to the association – in addition to Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Russia’s BRICS presidency focuses on strengthening multilateralism for fair global development and security. As part of its presidency, Russia is organizing more than 200 political, economic and social events.
