Moscow, Feb. 23 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday vowed to enhance the combat potential and effectiveness of Russia’s armed forces while ensuring its military is equipped with modern weaponry.
In a video speech on Defender of the Fatherland Day, which falls on Sunday, Putin outlined a strategic vision for strengthening national defense amid global uncertainties.
“Today, as the world is changing impetuously, our strategic course for strengthening and developing the armed forces remains unchanged,” said Putin, adding that Russia will continue to build up the combat potential and effectiveness of its army and navy.
He also underscored the need to equip the military with cutting-edge technology, citing battlefield experience as a key factor in refining weaponry and military tactics.
“Based on the analysis of the tactical use of the weapons and equipment, we will continue to provide the armed forces with new state-of-the-art models,” Putin said.
